Chicago Sauna

This project was a collaboration with Studio Puisto Architects in Helsinki, Finland, for a design competition in Chicago. The structure is proposed as a cross-laminated timber (CLT) wooden structure that mimics the form of shells found along the shore of Lake Michigan. The structure’s versatility allows it to change from season to season and can include functions such as a sauna, snack stand, or performance platform. The proposal included locating several of these structures across the site to support the design biennale of 2016
